Born on a Mountaintop

Howdy, yall. I am up here in the mountains (God's country). We have learned hick talk once again!!LOL

You know , we are some spoiled people!! My sister's computer works at a pace slower than slow!! I am used to cable that gets it there IMMEDIATELY!! thus, I have been frustrated, and today was the first time I could get it to connect!!

We are well, and you will be happy to know we have found dress #2!!! At a dress shop I remembered from my childhood....we used to walk past it and dream....as they had brides dresses and fancy clothes in the windows.........And, tho top it all off, the older gentleman who ran the store (witha couple of ladies)....knew my father!! He recalled him and told my girls what a wonderful person he was....not mentioning the hard things I am sure her remembered!! He told my girls how fun he was to be around and what a fine man he was. They were the same age and my dad drove a taxi for his dad, who owned the company! He and one of the ladies attend church with my aunt and uncle and serveral of my uncles have come and sang and had a concert at their church!! He kept remarking what a small world this is!!

Also, we had tea with my Aunt today. She is a Children's Literature teacher for adults seeking a degree in teaching. Miriam, Rachel, and I had a grea time. We took her a couple of books: "Pinkalicious" , and "Will, God's Mighty Warrior". She remarked to a lady at the tea room that we were teaching her to enjoy children's books.....SHE IS THE MASTER! When Maddy visited her last year, they curled up in a chair and she read to Maddy...yes, we have pics!! What a very special time we have had with her....laughing and crying. She fills us in on family history. An author wrote a book about my great uncle and held a book sigining here locally yesterday. My
aunt said he sold out within an hour. I must get one of them!

We took Mother to ---yes Pam, Olive Garden yesterdya. She enjoyed the outing! Of course we drug her into the "mall" to walk around, too. Last night we attended my great niece's softball team. She is the pitcher on a fast pitch team. WOW!! If my are moved that fast, I would have to have rotator cuff surgery!!

I miss my time with all my friends....bloggerworld!! I will write more as time passes. We will travel to Brevard on Saturday morning!

Until then....you are in my prayers!

Digging Deeper

We are told to have a vision of how God see us, and to visualize that potential in others....especially ones we are witness to or discipling.

I found this in an email by Bob Persk....a writer who has a lot to say about life and our relationship with God, and our walk in this world with others.

This is soo simple to remember--"The ABC's of Life"........

"You are "A" child of God.
You will "B" successful
when you "C" what He sees
in you."

Often, our guard is down, and we forget our potential in the Lord (is this where humbling comes from??) thus a lesson for those we seek to desciple!!

Life is good......we are having a good summer.... a new grandbaby, then next week we go to Tennessee to visit my Mother and sisters and some other family....we will have tea with my Aunt. Then, we will travel to North Carolina to meet a friend and to then proceed to the WILDS for a week. It is a fun and exhausting week. I love being on the mountaintop with other Christians and campers who are experiencing God........more fuel for my fire in my walk with the Lord!

Some of you may have read more into my post recently. I am praying for each of my family members. One, my oldest who just had another daughter, and travels alot around the world....second, a son getting married in six weeks, thirdly, my son who does door-to-door sales in some sketchy neighborhoods where safety is always an issue....adn my girls, who need encouragement in the Lord and I want them to be open to the Lord , especially at the WILDS, where you are exposed to the Word all the time and you must be transparent!! Of course, I pray for all my kids and their walk with the Lord. I am reading the books: The Power of a Praying Wife and the Poser of a Praying Husband, so thus my need to pray specifics for my spouse along with the regular things, including his walk with the Lord.

God bless you today as you walk with your King and seek to serve Him and minister...
May others see Christ in you!

SEEKING

Do your family members have needs you discuss only with the Lord??As no one is perfect, I know we have those desire of our heart (which must be of/for the Lord...NOT OUR OWN, for the Lord can only use them when they are HIS!!)I have been impressed by the Lord to pray specifics for my children and husband today....Each of them, of course has special needs and in my motherly eyes, I see character flaws others might not. Also, as a silent encourager of my husband, I need to pray for all those needs he doesn't even have time to stop and see!!

Amazing how God answers prayer!! And, sometimes, the answer is "wait"---they have more to learn here!!

Not that I do not pray daily for them and their needs ---physically and spiritually, just in DETAIL!!You see, we would love to have every one of them in a bubble to protect them and so they would hearken to our voice....but, would it not be better to expose the to what God wants, while we are there alongside them for guidance (no matter the age!!) It is hard to give you children up....but we must remember that God loves them more than we ever could and desires His best for them ----through a learning process to KNOW Him!!

God beckons "If ye seek me, ye shall find me"....what peace . That surpasses all we can know or feel on earth and the provision that passes all understanding is afforded us.

What a MIGHTY God we serve!!

A Child's Eyes

As God would see fit, we get the privilege of keeping Maddy until we go to the hospital today!!

YAY!!!

Of course, she is soo funny---we were on the way home last nite from picking her up and had to take an alternate route because the interstate was closed down. She had to go potty just minutes into the trip, so we found a McDonalds to take her into. When she returned and got situated in the car seat, she said, "My goodness decoratious!!" We asked what was wrong and she said "IT'S PAST MY BEDTIME!!"....to which we all howled.

Later, she said, "Look, isn't the interstate just beautiful??"

Wow...to have the eyes of a child to see beyond the obvious!!!

We asked what she thought Emma would think when she sees her for the first time, and she said "You are beautiful!".

LATER.....................

Babies, Weddings, etc.

Today the girls and I are attending a wedding. We are doing so for a testimony to the bride and a couple of guests we know. We decorated the arch and cake table yesterday, and will do the gazebo if the rain stops today. Pray for this time....probably few will be saved there are we lamented the decision but agree it is in our best interest as a Christian to go and be a testimony!!

To those I have not shared with, my DIL will be induced Tuesday, please keep them in your prayers!

WE are full speed ahead with rehersal plans at the country club---did I mention the girls and I got lost looking for it Sunday afternoon (a whim I took without mapquest!!LOL!!
The banquet manager is a very nice lady and I think she will make it a pleasurable event for us ....AND, I DO NOT HAVE TO COOK OR SERVE OR CLEAN UP!!! I can be an engaging hostess.....anyone have any cool ideas to add to my own about the gathering? All there will be Christians to our knowlege!

Have a blessed Lord's Day tomorrow---may God fill you with His presence and speak to your heart through His Word! May you also find someone to share a kind word with and to be a blessing to!!
