Christmas Hope

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!

Yep, the music, the decorations, the gifting, etc......

I love my house decorated for Christmas.

But, I do not get the tree up before early December.

And, I do but presents throughout the year (no lay-aways, just sales and mark-downs....or those deals too good to pass up!!)

But, I think we have rushed thanksgiving, to where we cannot focus on thankfulness and how truly blessed we are!! I mean decorations have been out since September in the stores!! Come on!!

And, I do believe our focus should still be thakfulness when Christams arrives....

The greatest gift and th egreatest story of ALL time!!

Our only way to salvation and an eternal hope!! JESUS CHRIST WAS BORN A BABY!!

Have you ever pondered just how Mary must ahve felt??? I know how I fell holding a baby---and carrying them prior to that time---WOW!!!

So, as you approach each day---consider the gift you have at your disposal, and TELL OTHERS---if only one a day---give the wrold your reason for hope!!!

Mom

Found this old card with the following:

mom courage:

The mental, moral and physical strength needed to cope

with the comedy, tragedy, and the drama of family life.

Pray as you focus on thankfulness this week, and may you realize this highest calling God has given you!

Sieze the moment ---they pass way too fast!!

BE ALL GOD INTENDED YOU TO BE!

An Admonishment

In lieu of the post by Jungle Mom, I read the following on a blogs, and it rings sooo true:

Here is a quote from Pastor Martin Niemoeller, a church leader who opposed Hitler.“First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Also, a friend is suggesting we send cards to the ACLU for Christmas----wonder how their "winter holiday" will be affected?

Have you pondered the "Family Trees" issue from Lowe's? I mean isn't the Family Tree a list of your ancestors---represented by the branches each family represents.....do they think we are to hang only family names as decorations (BTW, the decorations are described as "holday" items....and the current ad just calls them "trees"....all this by inundating them with emails which caused a retraction the next day!!)

So, what do you think about our taking a stand??????

TIME PASSES ON

I cannot believe it has been sooo long since I posted.

What have I been doing? Who knows---Busy with everyday stuff!! School, piano, babysitting my granddaughters.......helping a friend car shop and phone shop......just STUFF!! And, have spent hours on the phone and online trying to get an airline ticket refunded and making reservations for #2 and DIL to come home for Christmas (it will be wonderful to see them, as it has already been four months)!!

We also are still in the midst of a family crisis--keep us in your prayers.

We attended the funeral for a friend's Mother yesterday ---there was a clear gospel, as there were unsaved ones there...and some outspoken Catholics. All in all, it was a tribute to the "colorful" person she was!!

Can you believe we have been to a wedding, a funeral, two birthday dinners, and the month is still young? I think we will celebrate most of Thanksgiving day here.....then have dessert later at #1's home.

Life is going way too fast....I detest Christmas shopping, but like shopping Christmas week even less. I am really pretty far in the process, as I buy throughout the year!!

I read all of your blogs daily and do pray regularly for you and you posted needs as well as the ones I know about...

Blessings to you as you serve our Lord!!

#1, Grands....

Here is a pic of my son, and granddaughters. They are at a cafe in Brasschaat, Belgium. This is across from their new home (in Jan.). Cafes have playgrounds for the children so the parents can enjoy thier meal. There are random playgrounds/toys throughout town, for the children, as you walk everywhere there!

Between the chocolate and they playgrounds, grand #1 thinks it may be ok to be there for a while!!
