Tenants

Not wishing our wildlife around our house to starve (I believed that all the building in our area made it hard for the animals to find sufficient food).... I started throwing out bread and crackers and popcorn or peanuts to subsidize the diets of our little friends, be they feathered or furry!

Well, since we do not have any cats or dogs (only the snake....SHHSHSHHSHHHHH......do not want to buy a micro chip or permit since it does not really belong to me, but to our second and third born who have vacated the premises...sorta!).......the population of bird and squirrels has greatly increased.

We once had swamp sparrows who nested in our laundry room....and they also do in our hanging pot of plants on our porch (which I might add, I have had many years startles off my life by them flying out when I water the plants----not knowing they have taken up residence in the pots!!)....they now have grand children and great grand living around our house and in the grapevine ivy!!

Well, the squirrels have been quite brazen and sit in the pine trees munching on the cones, and they mockingly make their clicking noise and proceed to throw the leftovers down at opportune times..........like just as you are walking to the car or getting out of the car!! We believe the clicking noise is actually a laugh!!

Now on to the dilemma.....one brave squirrel has decided to move into his own penthouse condo!! However, the condo happens to be our chimney!! To further the complaint, in between the walls of our fireplace. I caught him moving sticks to build a nest that were three feet long, and he did this at sundry times throughout a couple of weeks. Now every night just after dark, he rearranges the furniture, so we as good landlords bang on the inside of the fireplace. (NO, WE HAVE NOT HAD THE LACK OF COMPASSION ENOUGH TO BUILD A FIRE THERE!!! I am afraid of the roasted wildlife smell that would permeate our home!!).......

A couple of weeks ago, when I went out to turn on the water hose, he was in a crack with a paw hanging out, just chilling, enjoying the view from the picture window!! The girls got a picture, but when my hubby went to get a phone pic, he backed into the recesses of his new "borough"!!

He still resides there---living the life of a Riley----wonder if he plans on having his grandkids move in or grow up there???

The snake needs a meal............ HHMMHMHMHMMMMMMMM

No, I am not that heartless!!!

Any ideas on how to terminate the Lease Agreement????????

Golf

Last Sunday, we had no electricity for may hours due to a neighbor's plight to cut down a tree. We took the time to play volleyball, take a walk around the block (1.5 miles) and then my hubby and daughters took turns hitting golf balls into the wood. I tried golf a few years ago, and never got the hang of it...maybe I should try it again!! We did get Dad involved with a game of Clue, aslo. We did have a fun time!! I thought I would share some golf humor from the Country Club
I am pursuing for a rehearsal dinner......(Plan B)..........

"There is an old saying: If a man comes home with sand in his cuffs and cockleburs in his pants, don't ask him what he shot." Sam Snead

"A golf ball simply cannot find the hole by itself. Even if it could, the ball would never do so willingly, after the hatred and hammering you've heaped on it to get it to the green."Dick Brooks

"In other games you get another chance. In baseball you get three cracks at it; in tennis you lose only one point. But in golf the loss of one shot has been responsible for the loss of heart."Tommy Armour"

Golf is not just exercise; it is an adventure, a romance. Shakespeare play in which disaster and comedy are intertwined and you have to live with the consequences."Harold Segall

H O P E

The following is from a newsletter I receive from Bob Perks:

The dictionary defines hope as, "the feeling that what is desired is also possible,
or that events may turn out for the best."

It also includes the phrase, "hope against hope." To continue to hope, although the
situation does not warrant it.

Hope, I believe, is woven into the very fabric of faith.

Faith, in the religious sense, no matter the doctrine, is a combination of hope, belief and trust.
One cannot be hopeless and have faith at the same time.

So, if I cannot sell hope then I must give it.

That brings up the other challenge. If I had hope to give, how would I do it?

One might argue that you can't see hope, you can't touch hope, you can't hold hope or surely one cannot
taste it.

To see hope, rise up early in the day to watch the sunrise. It is a promise kept.

To touch hope, take the hand of the elderly and listen to their story. They will give you hope.

To hold hope, cradle a baby in your arms. Babies are a confirmation of God's vision for tomorrow.

To taste hope, weep for those who mourn the loss of a loved one. God is in your tear drops. God is hope.

So how would you give hope?

Help...those blinded by the darkness of despair to see the light of this day and point them toward the
promise of a better tomorrow.
Offer...your hand to someone who needs lifting up and your time to someone who thinks their time
has run out.
Profess. Share your faith. Faith and hope are the life blood of humanity.
Example. Be the hope you want to see in the world. Live a hope-filled life and the lost and hopeless will
follow.

WHAT's THIS WORLD DOING?????

Being incensed is s part of life these days.....

We learned a man from another churhc was arrested for rape of a minor....(WHAT?????HE WAS A CHRISTIAN AND HAD TWO DAUGHTERS.......twenty counts!! My kids knew his daughters and family!! WHERE IS HIS CONSCIENCE BEFORE A HOLY GOD???) Must my children think that any father of "Christian" teens could do this???Thus, we protect our children even in Christian homes with Chrisitian friends!! Molestation is too common!! (BTW---the aforementioned has a twenty year sentence!)

A local scumbag who ran for office again and lost....now wants to run for county commission!!
Oh, and anyone supporting an "I VOTED" sticker after this last election ws allowed free entry to his girlie clubs!! WHAT????!!!! This is a satanic enticement for men who would never spend money to go there....obviously (Praise the Lord) they didn't all vote for him---he lost AGAIN!!
We did get an email through a homeschooling network expressing concern, though because several Chrisitians stated he had their vote because he had done so much for the community!!
(IN WHOSE EYES---the young girls working for him, or the families destroyed by this sin???)
Should our young men/husbands think if it is free it is ok???? Certainly not the Christians we are associated with through church/fellowship!!

Believing the BIBLE is true, we must truly believe that men are lovers of themselves....thus the "ME" attitude in self fulfillment and negating responsibility to be upstanding citizens as well as fathers and Christian leaders!!

I am sure this is not just a problem indigenous to men....women have the same issues if you see the news... but truth here is if you have enough money, you can get house arrest and then go on with your life!!! (Ever heard "You're too pretty for jail???"....What an absurdity!!

We must be living in the end times......self indulgences are all about us, with no fear of reprisal, and no conscience 1!!

Unknown Family

On the news this morning, the sister of Cho had a family letter read. The note states how surprised and heartbroken they are for the families of those injured/killed and for the University. The family never knew this side of a mentally unstable person (seems as though prior roommate found it unbelievable he was capable of such violence and on such a wide scale)
His family is so saddened and offered condolences to those effected.

Seems when he was a young boy he was diagnosed with Autism (????? Really????) and the poor family had no way of getting him help. He was a Creative Writing major......

Experts in an interview stated that there was virtually no warning aside from the fact that a couple of years ago his stability was questioned (by whom??)---however, Virgina law still allows firearms purchases! Hmmmm.....lawmakers are revisiting that law.....

Are we as American sooo blasse and unconcerned that we do not question actions or motives of those who seem to struggle so deeply.......no one will confront actions nor words. We must not damage the psyche or self worth of anyone..........

How about coming alongside of one (and of course after much prayer) seeking help?

Hindsight is 20/20.

SURPRISES!!

My life is a little complicated to say the least.....

Yesterday, I worked about two hours in the office - contractors, hubby, permits (1and a half hours for two!!---their online process leaves a lot to be desired....you backspace and your info disappears!!) This work was after I washed two loads of laundry and cleaned three bathrooms.

I had been on the phone in between times for car rentals, air flights, reception venues, etc.....

Off to take the girls to class, gasoline, bank, Sally's, Sam's club (business out of stuff)....pick up the girls, go home, more calls and online stuff, lunch, health food store (husband requested something)....the British market to look for something my Mom asks for EVERY time I have talked to her for three months or longer---and yes, I have looked in about ten or more places----then to look for a sign for a property for rent on 41---my friend needs a home---then to Winn Dixie (EMERGENCY STOP for my friend)....then back home----it is now 5:00 and we put away Sam's stuff and the girls start dinner, as it is almost 6, and I am online looking at banquet facilities and making calls.....Oh yeah, I forgot, I got a call earlier in the day telling me there was no reservation for me at the other banquet hall for a rehearsal dinner...............back to square one.... dinner,,,,more searching.........son#2 calls and my now I am calmed down over the dinner thing, and he wants direction on where to start looking.....then at 9:30, my husband tells me son #1 will be over at 6:00 AM.......So, we're off to the races cleaning house until midnight at which time we quit and sit down and laugh uncontrollably for a while, because my life sounds like a soap opera!!!

ASHLEY, JUST FOR YOUR READING PLEASURE!!

Your French Name is:

don't know where the pic disappeared to!!LOL

A Great Saying

Sometimes God calms the storm...

and

Sometimes God calms His child and lets the storm rage.

This is on a plaque I purchased at the WILDS (YAY we are going again for summer camp the first week of July)....How often, God has reminded me of that in the past five years!! No matter how low I have sank, He reminds me gently of his love and care and pulls me up!!

I have used that to encourage friends in their dark times.

I know it by heart, but occasionally I choose to forget my position before a HOLY GOD and therefore I do not remain humble; I become self sufficient!! (cruising to fall here---flat on my face crying out to my Lord, from whence cometh my help!!)

I often get rebuked when you are counseling a person for many years and they seem to sit at a STOP sign...never wanting to change or move forward. God may se me the same way when I wallow in self pity!!

So for today, may I trust, walk uprightl;y, move forward and praise the Lord!!

EXCLUSIVE is offering me BABIES-R-US Free Goodies filled pack (since my baby is 15, she will like the goodies filled pack vs. the surprise filled diaper!!)

Christian Debt Removers promise to stop my harassing creditor calls (do they quote scripture about being kind and loving???)

Nextag offers me their NEWEST OFFER (remember the "exclusive "above??) to organize school around my schedule....

Most of you know I have been cruising the net looking for a proper tent for a Wedding as MOTG!! So, amidst that (or recipe hunting) I started getting junk spam. So, I thought I would give you a glimpse into my inbox!!

I got offered Credit, so I could wire cash. I guess I need my looks and eyes changed, so I got Lasik and Hoodia offered!! While I am recovering, I can listen to my free IPod. After my transformation, I can go to e-Harmony and find my soulmate! If that fails, I have been invited to join a black singles group! Because I am such a loser at work (remember I work for my hubby???LOL) and get passed over for promotions, The University of Phoenix will train me properly. Then, $100K plus jobs are offering me top positions (do they know I don't have that degree yet???) Blessed, Indeed

Admist the busy week, I must count my blessings!!

Friends read my blog and comment and they blog and I keep up on there lives from my little corner of the world!! I feel close if even through blogging!!

My niece helped us at the wedding last weekend, and she was such a blessing ---God knew I needed her because of my unforseen glitches!! Nothing like an aunt to call and have you working in an hour!! She is 8 hours older than my oldest son, and spent much of her younger years with us (they looked like twins)!!

Even thouogh I have no dress, we have made plane reservations, room reservations for us and guests, and are working on auto reservations (it was chaper to fly for $49.00 than to pay gas to drive!!) WE got a great deal on the rooms and are hoping the same for the cars!!

Miriam is doing much better and we are hoping she can stop the meds real soon!!

WE are/were able to encourage a friend that has been having some difficulty---she is a colorful character and adds much joy to our lives!!

Pam sat by me at church ---it was good to see her and for us to rejoice in answered prayer for her Dad!!

We had dinner with Maddy and her parents (my son and DIL) and got to see Emma....the anticipation is mounting!! (We have eight weeks to wait on her!! Pray for a couple of weeks earlier so the family can attend brother's wedding!!)

A package sent to the bride-to-be was well received!!

Tonight, we will see the Five Browns.....this was Miriam's birthday gift. She Rachel & I have a divine evening planned!! (Will report back later)

I am blessed....I see God's hand in my life....I am undeserving and fall short of expectation and desire every day, but I am resting in the knowlege that God loves me just the way I am but loves me too much to leave me that way!! I must depend on Him----therein lies my hope, and my joy!!

Until next time, may you be blessed. Also, may you keep blogging!!

WOO HOO ITS WEDNESDAY

Although I have been working most of the morning (in the office for my hubby :~) ----- ) I do not feel as though I have accomplished much.
Dealing with the State for Worker's Comp and the Division of Corporations (papers to file for annual reports), and both are totally separate offices and automated answerers!!!, Also, Pasco County and SWFMD,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I have finished most of it, but it takes time.

My past few days have been involved with getting addresses of friends and family for wedding invites. Yesterday, my oldest sister called me out of the blue (she has been MIA for a few months), my youngest brother called (first time in four or more years although he lives locally)...my brother who is two in line below me......mostly because I needed their addresses. My sister is director of a domestic shelter and seems to love her job and finds fulfillment in helping put lives back together......Oh, yes my next oldest sister called, too. So, I had more family conversation in a day that usually takes place in quite an extended time!! Two siblings live in Tennessee, one in California (my oldest brother) and three brothers ane one sister live here. Our lives are SOOO very different, thus their need to avoid me ---I do not like my children exposed to them and their worldly habits except maybe once every couple of years when my Mom visits and we have a picnic! I do not judge at those times---they just know we are Christians and we attend church and our goal, dreams and desires are seeking God for us and our children.

We got 4D pictures from Emma's sonogram yesterday---if I can find out how to post them, I will.Otherwise, get my email from Pam and I will send them via email!!

The wedding is full speed ahead now!! July 28 is the date and yes, we are looking for clothes for all the events. The girls and I got invited las nite to a tentaive shower for Sharon in May. Pray for this as we would love to build a few bridges with the family, but it will be expensive!!

What a beautiful day -----we are thankful for the rain (and it is to rain later), but I am reminded "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof!"

Have a most blessed day--we're off to anatomy class!!!

Blessed Easter

Today we celebrate Christ's victory over death. The resurrection.

Our Hope .

Our reason for being and living.

Our desire to have a relationship with our Creator.

Our assurance that only our Lord could not be kept dead in a tomb, but that by His living, we have the assurance that our sins are as scarlet because of His shed blood.

Our knowlege that no matter what, our salvation means our eternal home is in Heaven......

Knowing I am a child of the KING!!

Wedding Bell Pains

Once again, we made it through a wedding, Surprised, of course....
I try to remind myself all the time that if it seems simple, you will be really tired when it is over....And, there were a lot of last minute things thrown in!!TTYL about this!!

Thank God for my neice who lived closeby and came to help us....we did not stop moving for about six hours....we prepared, arranged, refilled, and decorated over and over....and had a few glitches, like no working coffeepot, and malfunctioning ones.
Yep, they got married, and love each other more than you can imagine ....it is in their eyes.
There were some people from the brides birth country (near Russia) in attendance, and seemed excited about our American culture.

We did see old acquaintances we have not seen since the last weedding like this!!

The best part of the whole deal---my family worked alongside me, and we laughed and talked and cleaned up and shared a meal together!!

Oh, and the pains ---my feet after three days of being on them decorating, ironing, shopping for food and all the other stuff!!

Thursday, April 05, 2007

No dress yet....I am wearing old stuff for this wedding and rehersal, and then on Sunday.....I am the reception coordinator and will most likely have to be the wedding coordinator!!
But as far as OUR wedding, NO DRESS!!!! Must I call Omar the tent maker???

A friend said that women of color always dress to the 9's, so I should hand out at the mall and question one as to where great plus size dresses can be purchased...(Can you tell she never graces the mall unless we make her and accompany her at Christmas???)........the same one said I should not wear black---who does she think she is?? Black hides a multitude of me!!

I have not been looking anymore; must get through this wedding of a friend's son the weekend.
Pew bows made (check) receptionhall decorated and setup (check) two wreath bows (semi check)...wash platters, put card box up, cut veggies, make dip......then on Sat....make grapes and cheese trays, arrange platters....arrange strawberries.....learn to work chocolate fountain and punch fountain.....find someone to make coffee in the auto 120 cup maker (WOW)....yeh, I am well on my way!!

Love it!! (Can't say much for ironing about 35 tablecloths today ---yes, my girls are helping!!)
And yes, WE WILL DO THIS AGAIN!!

Until after the I do's.......

Praying for yall!!

Today, I thought I would post a couple of sayings:

"Everyone who has ever taken a shower has had an idea. It's the person who gets out of the shower, dries off, and does something about it that makes a difference."

Nolan Bushnell Founder of Atari

"Doing nothing is very hard to do --you never know when you are finished"

Leslie Nielsen (Actor)

Not that I will totally agree with all these for their lives/lifestyles, I do like the quotes!

So being inspired today, I am off to look for a PLUS SIZED Mother of the Groom dress!!

ALMOST MIDNIGHT MUSINGS

Life is GOOD!! (Do I sound schizophrenic???)

I have a friend who is ill and spends most days in bed with an immune system disorder as well as many other issues with her body, but she still has her sense of humor....that saves us from a dreary life, does it not???

Well, as some of you have guessed, I have been invited to be an evil mother in law again!! J/K
However, my son Derek is engaged as of March 13. Wedding date: July 28, 2007.

Our concern is that his borther and family will be able to attend, as I am due to become a grandma once again on June 8th. SOOOOOOOO, if Emma Grace decides to enter this world early, or if Tracy is induced early, then we will be a little closer to our desires. She is on anti-seizure meds and must be taken off gradually after the birth (about 8 wks. after)....We have been heartbroken for the past couple of weeks, as the family will not all be there! Soo, you may help us pray that all will be well and that everyone can travel. Aaron will be best man - to our knowlege, noone else is in the wedding.

There are many other details I will not share, but pray they will all work out.....we have a rehersal dinner to plan long distance and ...............

I love reading your blogs....they bring humor and encouragement to my life (and even correction, thank you!!) Not only that, but you encourage me in the Lord....you are my circle !!

Until next time......................blessings to you. I am praying for you!
